Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy Studies (CERES)
NEPeD’s decision to indigenize/upscale its work led to the establishment of Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy Studies (CERES), at Industrial Estate, Dimapur. CERES was set up with the following objectives:
- Mass production of hydrogers
- Production of other essential hydroger components like Electronic Load Controller (ELC)
- Focus on improving renewable technologies
- Training of “ Rural Engineers”
- Centre for trans-generational sharing, learning and research on hydro based technologies in the North East and beyond.
- Entrepreneurship development
- Upscale production of hydroger to Small Hydro technology
- Easy availability of hydro technology and enabling state to harness the hydro potential rivers and streams of Nagaland.
Current status of CERES
CERES complex has been set up at industrial estate, Dimapur. Besides construction of basic infrastructure of CERES complex, NEPeD has also invested in state-of-the-art machineries for its hydroger factory by purchasing and installing high end equipment’s like Computer Numerical Control (CNC) lathe & milling machines and CNC winding machines, conventional lathes, arc welding, pillar drill, motorized hacksaw etc.
The 3kW impulse Hydroger machine has been successfully tested and certified at the Alternate Hydro Energy Centre (AHEC) at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee.
Production of 3kW impulse hydroger is now ongoing and Research and Development (R&D) on 5kW impulse hydroger and Electronic Load Controllers (ELC) in progress.
